The indoor sports facility replaced 572 interior tube lights, 48 on-field lights and 15 exterior lights for almost 280,000 kWh in energy savings, according to Horizon, and a total of 40.3 kW demand savings.

Horizon Utilities says its conservation and demand management team worked with Players Paradise Sports Complex to assist in finding greater efficiencies and accessing incentives offered by the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).

“Since our lighting retrofit, we have seen up to a 50% decrease in daily electricity consumption which has been great for our bottom line,” said Tasha Mazza-Kelton, president of Players Paradise Sports Complex. “More importantly, the light quality inside the facility is more vibrant and allows our customers to have a better playing experience.”
