Green Jobs youth internships to help reduce energy
September 19, 2016 - New from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is “Green Jobs”—a youth internship pilot project to encourage employers to hire young graduates for positions that will help reduce energy use.

The $1-million initiative is part of the Career Focus Stream of Canada’s national Youth Employment Strategy and is expected to create 100 jobs across the earth sciences, minerals and metals, forests and energy sectors including energy end users, such as Canada’s manufacturing sector.
Hiring organizations are eligible for up to 80% of an intern’s salary, to a maximum of $10,000 (stackable with other government funding). The internships must be four to six months in duration and the work terms must finish by March 31, 2017. Interns must be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive), have graduated from a college or university and be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations.
