January 6, 2017 - The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) says it applauds the publication of the new Energy Efficiency Regulations, 2016 – Amendment 13, by Natural Resources Canada, as it will "increase energy performance for many household appliances", including refrigerators and freezers, clothes washers and dryers, dishwashers and room air-conditioners.
November 17, 2016 - Recognizing the amount of energy used by the residential building sector, ASHRAE and IES (Illuminating Engineering Society) say they are revising their residential energy standard with a goal of making it 50% more efficient than the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code.
