The Government of Alberta has announced that it will be funding its Emissions Reduction Alberta’s (ERA) Energy Savings for Business program targeting small- and medium-sized industrial and commercial facilities that require financial assistance to invest in energy savings and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction projects.

The province will be investing $30 million which will be leveraged with up to $25 million in funding from the federal government.

Launching in January 2021, businesses will submit their eligible projects for pre-approval and program applicants will be eligible for up to $250,000 per project to a maximum of $500,000 per company. A high volume of projects (approximately 4,000) is expected.

Projects can include commercially available energy-efficient upgrades such as HVAC technologies, weatherization, hot water systems, indoor/outdoor commercial and industrial lighting and control systems, and alternate power sources.
