This enclosed and gasketed LED luminaire is Appleton’s energy-efficient alternative to traditional HID and high-intensity fluorescent lighting, says the company. The Mercmaster LED features a compact, extremely low-profile, which is ideal for installation in low clearance areas, such as: hazardous and non-hazardous locations in oil refineries, pulp and paper mills, foundries, general manufacturing plants, and marinas. Unlike HIDs that requires a reflector to control light direction, Appleton says the LED precisely directs its light to where it is needed most without the use of external optics, resulting in efficiencies up to 80%.
