February 22, 2022 – BOMA Canada’s team is expanding with a new senior director, Sustainability, and two BOMA BEST project coordinators.
Jani Loots is senior director, Sustainability. Over the last 15 years at a consulting engineering firm, she has worked on a variety of existing building energy and sustainability projects, including helping clients achieve BOMA BEST and other building sustainability certifications. She also played a direct role in shaping BOMA BEST 3.0, says the association.
In her role, Loots will lead and continue the development of the BOMA BEST program, “and advance BOMA Canada’s thought leadership”.
Project coordinator Josimar Herrera is a chemical engineer with a Masters in Management & Engineering of Environment and Energy from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. Herrera has over eight years of experience in energy-intensive, and has worked with multiple stakeholders to detect, evaluate and implement energy and sustainability projects.
Project coordinator Joanna Sugunathazan is a recent graduate of the University of Waterloo, Environment and Business program. She has experience engaging stakeholders across public and non-profit sectors, and has supported programs to enhance sustainability within the building industry.
