December 9, 2016 - CertainTeed is celebrating its Canadian-made Sustainable Insulation products, which have been awarded EPD verification that indicates conformance with type III environmental declarations set by UL Environment and the International Standards Organization.

The CertainTeed Unfaced Sustainable Insulation batt product line is an insulation material made of fiberglass that consists of rapidly renewable content, a high percentage of recycled glass and a new plant-based binder that the company says has no formaldehyde, harsh acrylics, dyes or unnecessary fire retardants added. Batt sizes from R-10 to R-40 are included in this EPD.

Sustainable batt insulation acts as both thermal and acoustical insulation and is ideal for floors, walls and ceilings in residential, commercial and institutional settings.
