Selected from among 2,840 students, of which 58 were semi-finalists, the finalists also include teams from the U.S., China, Germany, Brazil, India, Spain, Vietnam, Indonesia and Algeria. They must now prepare to present their final case studies to a jury, comprising members of Schneider’s senior management, at an Innovation Summit. The winning team will be selected at the grand finale this November in Atlanta, Ga.

In the meantime, volunteers from Schneider will continue to mentor the teams, offering advice and support to help them develop their solutions with a focus on user needs, project impacts, feasibility and return on investment (ROI).

Launched in 2011 and now in its eighth edition, Go Green in the City offers second-year engineering and busines students an opportunity to present innovative energy management ideas for the cities of the future. This year, it received a record-setting 24,000-plus applications from 3,190 universities in 163 countries.
