Chang School launches new Energy Management & Innovation certificate

July 24, 2012 - Energy Manager has learned that Ryerson University’s The Chang School of Continuing Education is launching a new certificate in Energy Management and Innovation which was developed in consultation with industry, faculty and The Centre for Urban Energy.

According to Chang’s website, this certificate program provides adult learners with an opportunity to acquire a level of knowledge and expertise that will permit them to “contribute effectively to energy management, conservation, sustainability and public policy governing this regulated sector; and to energy innovation, entrepreneurship, and the challenges and opportunities for developing new energy technologies and business enterprises”.

Students will learn about:

• Technical and non-technical issues that impact energy generation, transmission (transport), distribution and consumption.
• Renewable energy and green technology.
• What it entails to create the smart grid, the challenges ahead and the costs and benefits from it.
