Hubbell and Lutron partner to help you better manage plug load
November 8, 2013 - Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems and Lutron Electronics announced they will collaborate to develop new products for controlling electrical outlets and their associated plug loads.

“Combining our wireless expertise with Hubbell’s 125-year experience in controlling general purpose loads—including its patented zero cross switching technology—will result in an increased range of Clear Connect-enabled devices,” explained Mark Jenner, new business alliances director at Lutron, “which today includes energy-saving dimmers and switches, daylight and occupancy sensors, home and building management systems, thermostats, appliance controls, and motorized window treatments.”
Hubbell will embed Lutron’s Clear Connect radio frequency (RF) communication technology directly into its Load:Logic plug load control products. This expands the interoperability of Clear Connect-enabled devices, say the partners, and allows installers to control electrical outlets in new and existing facilities without having to learn new systems or perform extensive commissioning.
