Fountain Park Rec Centre to undergo energy efficiency retrofits

Fountain Park Recreation Centre in St. Albert, Alta., is the beneficiary of $5 million for retrofits, courtesy of the Green Municipal Fund’s (GMF) Community Buildings Retrofit initiative. Of the $5 million, $1.25 million is a grant, while the remaining $3.75 million is a loan. The retrofits aim to modernize and increase the energy efficiency of the 45-year-old building.


Energy efficiency in the top 3 of equipment procurement strategies

Nearly 3/4 of industrial businesses (68%) experience unplanned outages at least once a month, costing the typical Canadian business close to $242,000/hour. Despite this, 19% of Canadian businesses surveyed still rely on run-to-fail maintenance. These findings come from the latest “Value of Reliability” survey report, which gathered responses from 3215 plant maintenance decision-makers around the world across numerous sectors.
