BizEnergySaver launches in targeted Ottawa postal codes

Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator launched Save on Energy’s BizEnergySaver in Ottawa with the aim of helping owners and operators of industrial, commercial, institutional and multi-unit residential buildings reduce energy consumption. Delivered in collaboration with Hydro Ottawa and Hydro One, the program addresses local electricity system constraints by offering eligible participants free energy assessments and instant discounts on a variety of installations.


Another $10 million on its way to Susan Fennell for building retrofits

The Susan Fennell Sportsplex in Brampton, Ont., is receiving $10 million for retrofits through the Green Municipal Fund’s Community Buildings Retrofit initiative. (Last year, we reported the facility is receiving $15.7 million for energy efficiency retrofits via the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program.) The retrofits are expected to transform the nearly 30-year-old multi-purpose structure into a “state-of-the-art zero-carbon facility”.

With the goal of lowering campus energy and GHG emissions by half, Sheridan College launched its Energy and Climate Master Plan in 2013.
