January 8, 2019 – TE Connectivity’s Lumawise Endurance S connector has been certified by Germany’s Deutscher Kraftfahrzeug-Überwachungs-Verein (DEKRA) for bringing connectivity functionality to outdoor LED fixtures and, thus, creating opportunities for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

“Lumawise Endurance S was developed in close co-operation with DEKRA’s Zhaga Book 18 specifications,” explains Jonathan Catchpole, system architect at TE. “This certification opens possibilities for developers, installers and users with the reliability of an established industry standard.”

The device connects a luminaire to a sensor or module that sits on the outside. As such, both new and existing outdoor lighting systems can be upgraded, allowing for replacements and interchangeability over time. While LEDs already reduce energy consumption compared to more traditional lighting, connected control can help improve efficiency further.

The entire Lumawise product line is now available in Canada.
