March 22, 2019 – Battery-based energy storage system developer Yotta Solar has entered a new partnership with flat-roof solar panel racking provider PanelClaw to integrate their products with each other.

Specifically, Yotta’s patented SolarLeaf thermally protected panel-level energy storage system, which shields the battery from hot and sub-freezing temperatures, will be customized as an attachment for seamless integration with PanelClaw’s system (example pictured) and placed in lieu of heavy concrete ballasts. As such, the partnership is expected to simplify deployment of solar-plus-storage applications and reduce installation costs.

“Because the SolarLeaf system replaces or reduces the need for concrete blocks on ballast racking, project developers will have a rooftop storage solution that is easy to install, scalable and safe,” says Costa Nicolaou, CEO of PanelClaw.

In turn, PanelClaw’s flat-roof racking systems will be pre-engineered and fully equipped for the attachments, eliminating design and site-specific complexities that can otherwise come with centralized energy storage.
