Gerry Phillips becomes Ontario’s new Minister Of Energy And Infrastructure
Gerry Phillips was sworn in as Ontario's Minister of Energy and Infrastructure this morning.
Minister Phillips takes over leadership of the government's Green Energy Act. The act is aiming to create 50,000 jobs for Ontarians in its first three years by encouraging investments in clean and renewable sources of energy such as wind, solar, hydro, biomass and biogas. Phillips was previously Minister of Energy from October 2007 to June 2008.
Minister Phillips will also continue to implement the government's $32.5 billion infrastructure investment plan.
