IoT-ready intelligent lighting fixture sensor and controller from Douglas

June 2, 2020  By Anthony Capkun

June 2, 2020 – Douglas Lighting Controls’ intelligent fixture sensor (IFS) and controller (IFC) are designed for Luminaire Level Lighting Controls (LLLC), and can be deployed as independent, fixture-mounted occupancy and daylight sensors.

Alternatively, they can be networked with Dialog controllers and other devices in the Dialog ecosystem (e.g. wall station switches, load controllers) to create a Bluetooth wireless lighting control system; embedded Bluetooth wireless controls in a fixture bring IoT-readiness for functionality such as indoor positioning and asset tracking, says Douglas.

The IFS and IFC provide full wireless control capability to suitably equipped host luminaires. These devices are intended to work with companion LED drivers having auxiliary power output, 0-10V dimming and Dim-to-Off capability. The IFS includes an occupancy sensor and a daylight sensor. Both products support single- and dual-channel 0-10V dimming. Their design fits directly into industry standard 1/2-in. knockouts.

According to BetterBricks, Combining LEDs with integrated controls and sensors within each fixture, Luminaire Level Lighting Controls (LLLC) offer commercial buildings an integrated solution that will improve building performance and occupant satisfaction, deliver maximum energy savings, and enable long-term flexibility with tenants and space usage.
