LEDEL International obtains the authorization to use cULus: E331017 certification for its LED bulb

MONTREAL, QC — On January 5th, the President of LEDEL International and the firm's Vice-President and General Manager, Normand Poliquin, announced that the Quebec firm had received authorization to use UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certification for its high-power LED bulb.

"This certification, which is recognized worldwide, demonstrates that our product is not only cutting-edge, but meets the highest standards in terms of effectiveness and safety.

"Furthermore, given its many advantages, our product will allow organizations in the commercial, industrial and institutional sectors to enjoy significant savings on certain expenses related to the maintenance and operation of their equipment. This is hardly a negligible advantage at a time when companies are reviewing their budgets and cutting back on corporate expenses," noted Poliquin.

It took the R&D team close to a year to complete modification work on the high-power LED bulb, in order to achieve a level of efficiency and safety the company claims is unparalleled in the street-lighting (lamppost) industry.

The product's advantages include:

  • Saves 50% to 80% on energy costs
  • Is 100% recyclable
  • Reduces greenhouse gas emissions
  • Meets standards pertaining to glare
  • Optimizes visual acuity (lighting colour)

"UL certification will enable us to market our product throughout Canada as well as export it to the United States and North America as a whole, since we have obtained both the "c" accreditation for Canada and "us" accreditation for the United States within the organization's official logo," added Poliquin.
