MainTrain Toronto 2012 announces speaker line-up

Describing MainTrain as “Canada’s largest annual peer-developed maintenance, reliability and asset management conference for knowledge transfer, technical training and networking,” PEMAC is a national not-for-profit association which strives to provide global leadership, education and certification in world-class maintenance, reliability and asset management practices.

The theme of MainTrain Toronto 2012 is “Creating & Measuring Success”, where attendees can learn how to create and measure maintenance, reliability and asset management success, and prove value and contribution to their businesses.

Speakers include:

• Keynote speaker – Dr. Peter Martin, Invensys
Dr. Martin is the VP for business value generation at Invensys Operations Management. He is the author of Bottom Line Automation (ISA Press, 2nd Edition), Dynamic Performance Management: The Pathway to World Class Manufacturing and A Guide to Automation Book of Knowledge (ISA Press).

• David Berger, Western Management Consultants
Berger is the founding president for PEMAC, and has done work in the areas of strategy, performance measurement, process engineering, information technology, customer relationship management, organizational design and change management. This includes large projects involving business process redesign, IT procurement, acquisitions & mergers, logistics and supply chain management, outsourcing and co-sourcing, from development of the business case to implementation. He has also consulted CMMS/EAM software companies over the past 20+ years including conducting market research, facilitating strategic planning sessions, assisting with marketing, creating white papers, and advising on development approach, prioritization, and improved functionality.

• Larry Cote, CINDE
Cote is the president and CEO for the Canadian Institute for NDE. Prior to joining CINDE in 2007 as a project manager, he worked for 30 years at Dofasco Inc. in a variety of positions including lubrication lab supervisor, quality improvement project manager, senior reliability specialist and as the team leader of the Predictive Technical Services department. Delegates attending will learn the principles and applications of the five main nondestructive testing techniques: magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonics, radiography and eddy current. Industry examples are used to demonstrate their proper use and potential interpretation pitfalls to be avoided.

• Cliff Williams, ERCO Worldwide
Williams is a 30+year veteran of the maintenance field who has worked in the pulp and paper and steel industries as well as with food giants Coca Cola, Kraft and Wrigley. His present position at ERCO Worldwide sees him helping drive the maintenance performance at their plants in North and South America. In this presentation, Williams will look at how to create the right environment for improvements using creative techniques such as multimedia 360 feedback – Jeopardy Communicate; successes, failures, reasons, routes.
