Eaton announces H-Max series VFD

March 27, 2013 - Eaton has released the H-Max Series variable frequency drive (VFD), which claims to increase energy savings, lower utility costs and reduce emissions in commercial buildings. According to Eaton, customers whose HVAC systems do not yet use adjustable frequency drives to control motors can realize energy savings up to 45% over their current control method. Meanwhile, those already using an adjustable frequency drive solution can realize an additional energy and emissions savings of up to 10% by switching to an H-Max drive, it says. The H-Max series features insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs), a real-time clock and calendar, and Active Energy Control, which helps customers design and operate HVAC systems. Users can see additional cost savings by tapering system requirements during off hours, weekends, and holidays.
