Xylem’s new B&G pump line aims to boost HVAC efficiency

January 25, 2019 – At the recent International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo), Xylem introduced its Bell & Gossett (B&G) brand's new Series e-HSC double-suction centrifugal hydraulic pumps, designed specifically for commercial HVAC systems.

Compared to the company’s earlier double-suction pumps, Series e-HSC reportedly enables greater system optimization to improve efficiency and thus increase energy savings. Its in-line configuration is designed to save space in the mechanical room and simplify installation and maintenance for both new and retrofit systems.

“It is ideal for large-capacity, high-head systems with high inlet pressure,” says Alan Jones, global product manager for B&G centrifugal pumps. “It is available in up to 90 model options, with extensive flow/head coverage to suit a wide variety of HVAC system requirements.”

Now available in Canada, the pumps are intended for office buildings, hospitals, shopping centres, hotels, airports and other facilities that require chillers, cooling towers, distributive pumping, district heating and cooling and secondary pumping or process application. They are equipped with mechanical seals customized for HVAC applications that support a variety of installations, regardless of incoming pressure.
