The southeastern city of Medicine Hat, Alberta has completed the installation of new LED lighting inside the Cenovus Arena at the city’s Family Leisure Centre.
50 LED lighting high bay fixtures, and three LED lighting wall packs have been installed, replacing the original lighting inside the arena over the ice and the stands.
A grant program available through the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC) in Alberta funded more than $26,000 towards the project, roughly 70% of the total cost. The city contributed the remaining funding necessary.
This project is expected to save up to $4,700 annually in electricity costs and reduce GHG emissions by up to 43 tonnes.
