NRCan earmarks $100MIL for Codes Acceleration Fund projects

January 30, 2023  By  Anthony Capkun

January 30, 2023 – Natural Resources Canada’s new Codes Acceleration Fund offers $100 million in funding opportunities for projects geared toward accelerating the adoption and implementation of the “highest feasible tiers of national model energy codes or other high-performance building codes”.

The funding consists of two (2) streams:

STREAM 1: Provinces, territories, municipalities, Indigenous governments and communities with the authority to adopt energy codes, “to support their efforts to accelerate code adoption, and to address gaps in code compliance and enforcement in their jurisdiction”.

STREAM 2: Organizations that do not have authority to adopt energy codes. This includes various for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, certain municipalities, etc., “to support projects that contribute to code adoption, compliance, and enforcement—either within a single jurisdiction or, preferably, on a broader scale”.
