Business Energy Rebates is the first of a number of efficiencyPEI programs that will target the commercial sector.

“Energy efficiency allows businesses to cut their operating costs while reducing the province’s greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change,” said PEI Energy Minister Paula Biggar, whose department includes efficiencyPEI.

After businesses purchase the energy efficient equipment they choose, they then submit their receipts to efficiencyPEI to receive a rebate toward the cost of the products.

According to efficiencyPEI, the Island’s buildings are responsible for 18 per cent of the province’s greenhouse gas emissions.
