May 22, 2012 - Roxul is now offering its ComfortBoard IS, a R6 rigid mineral wool insulation sheathing board that is non-combustible, water repellent, fire resistant and sound absorbent. Also available is the Roxul basement insulation system which combines 1.5” R6 Roxul ComfortBoard IS and R14 ComfortBatt which achieves an R20, helping to avoid thermal bridging through the stud from the foundation wall. According to the company, the ComfortBatt insulation springs back and expands against frame studs and joists, eliminating gaps and voids that may account for up to 35% of R-value losses.
