Schneider Electric plans Edmonton relocation

August 30, 2018 - Schneider Electric has announced it will relocate its Edmonton operations to a larger, newly constructed facility in March 2019, to accommodate the energy management and automation provider’s anticipated two per cent year-over-year growth in Western Canada.

The 77,000-square-foot ‘workplace of the future’—up from 59,000 square feet at the current location—will be built at Henday Industrial Park. The expanded floorspace and capacity will allow Schneider to add production of ready-to-install compatible power panelboards to its current supply chain of switchboards, motor control centres and lighting panelboards.

With mixed-use office space and a ‘smart factory’ production floor, the new facility will host all of Schneider’s 102 existing Edmonton employees, along with new ones as additional positions are added.

“By design, this facility will offer an open, energizing, productive and safe collaborative space for our employees,” says Susan Uthayakumar, president of Schneider Electric Canada. “It will showcase our brand and EcoStruxure products in use and I am confident it will meet the demands of the market for years to come.”
