September 28, 2018 - Schneider Electric Canada’s power solutions division has released the latest editions of its EcoStruxure power monitoring expert (PME) and power supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) operation software for energy management applications.

The PME edge-control software acts as a ‘window’ for digitized power networks, allowing users to take advantage of the Internet of Things (IoT). It can connect to such field devices as power meters, electrical distribution equipment and buildings’ energy systems, gathering data to help improve efficiency and reduce costs.

The latest edition of Schneider’s power SCADA operation (PSO) software, meanwhile, has been upgraded in terms of speed and situational awareness. It is intended for power-critical facilities, such as hospitals, data centres, airports and oil and gas plants, where any downtime is hazardous.

“It has robust redundancy for peace of mind even if a worst-case scenario occurs,” says Richard Henzie, power solutions director for Schneider Electric Canada.
