Sunoptics releases LightFlex daylighting suspended-ceiling applications

February 25, 2013 - Acuity Brands claims its new LightFlex system, a prismatic daylighting solution for suspended-ceiling applications from Sunoptics, makes optimal use of daylight throughout the day, delivers glare-free lighting and minimizes energy usage. The LightFlex toplighting system uses the Sunoptics Signature series prismatic skylight, which helps the system capture low-angle sunlight and optimize light distribution. The LightFlex daylighting system is available in 21-in. tubular as well as 2-ft. x 4-ft. and 4-ft. x 4-ft. configurations to fit various fixture options for plenum ceiling applications. According to Sunoptics, the larger unit options allow for fewer penetrations in the roof. The tubular device includes adjustable elbows to bypass interior ceiling obstructions in retrofit applications.
