Universal Lighting forms new team to support retrofit market

Universal Lighting Technologies, part of the Panasonic Group, has promoted Stu Sumner to vice-president (VP) of renovation sales, VP of North American distribution sales and head of a newly formed energy team for the retrofit market.

Sumner has nearly 30 years’ experience in the lighting industry, particularly with regard to sales management for LED systems. He has become well-known for his expertise in the retrofit market.

The establishment of Sumner’s energy team follows substantial growth in that market, as upgrading from fluorescent to LED technology has helped building owners save 30% or more in energy consumption, with even greater savings possible by strategically incorporating controls. As such, the energy team will work with Universal Lighting’s regional sales managers to identify retrofit opportunities and support implementations.
