ENMAX wants Albertans to take control with My Energy IQ

January 28, 2016 - ENMAX Energy’s new personalized tool is called My Energy IQ and it aims to help Albertans take better control of their energy use and costs. The program, an Alberta first, according to ENMAX, is a “value-added benefit” offered to most ENMAX Energy residential and small business customers.

It consists of an online portal, tangible tools and customizable reports that answer questions like:

• How do I use energy and what can I do to save money over time?
• How does my energy use compare to other nearby homes?
• How can I update my information to create my personal energy savings plan and receive tips tailored to my home?
• If I make some changes, how can I tell if they’re making a difference?

The My Energy IQ software, new to Alberta and created by Opower, is used by over 95 utilities around the world, ENMAX says, resulting in savings of 8 billion kW hours of energy, over 3.1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide and $1 billion on utility bills.
