January 11, 2016 - NB Power says tens of thousands of New Brunswickers saved money and energy by purchasing nearly 13,000 programmable thermostats last fall as part of the utility’s Smart Habits rebate program. The program offered in-store rebates on energy-efficient products from Oct. 1 to Nov. 30.
January 7, 2016 - PowerStream and Collus PowerStream announced they are bringing Ontario’s first behavioural energy-efficiency program to their Ontario regions as part of the Conservation First Framework. In partnership with Opower, a provider of cloud-based software for the utility industry, PowerStream and Collus say they “will give customers a more personalized experience and more control over their energy use.”
December 17, 2015 - When gold producer New Gold hired a BC Hydro-funded Industrial Energy Manager in 2011 and officially opened New Afton mine 15 km west of Kamloops, B.C. in 2012, it was a chance to work with BC Hydro to pursue the first ISO 50001 certification at a mine in North America.
December 10, 2015 - BC Hydro has added 70 LEDs to its list of retrofit technologies eligible for incentives. The utility has grouped the technologies for quick reference, and posted a full list of the retrofit configurations on the business incentives program page.
