June 4, 2013 - ATCO Electric celebrated the official opening of its new energy-efficient service centre in Stettler, Alta. The 68,000-sf facility is designed to enhance customer service, says ATCO, and reduce energy consumption by about 55% compared to commercial buildings of similar size and use.

“Investment in this new and expanded service centre demonstrates ATCO’s commitment to Stettler, our customers and the environment,” said Bobbi Lambright, president, ATCO Electric Distribution. “The new, energy-efficient facility will allow us to achieve greater levels of operational efficiency and customer service as we continue to grow with a community we’ve been part of for 85 years.”

The new facility centralizes and streamlines ATCO Electric’s Stettler operations, with more than 60 employees from three separate locations, including a new complement of surveyors, mechanics and land agents now working under one roof. The new centre has the capacity to house up to 80 employees.

Additional sustainable features include a high-performance HVAC system and triple-glazed windows. The building’s water fixtures will reduce average water consumption by an estimated 30%. In addition, rainwater will be captured on the roof for re-use in the wash bays.
