The HomeZero Collective Society is actively looking for up to 15 homeowners in East Hill and the Foothills to be among the first to access a $10,000 to $30,000 subsidy—as well a no-interest Greener Homes Loan of up to $40,000—to help finance energy efficiency retrofits. This is part of a retrofit pilot project in Vernon, B.C.

Stationary battery manufacturer Hithium’s 300Ah cell-based modules feature the company’s proprietary immersion liquid-cooling technology. The first power station to be entirely supplied with liquid-cooling battery products features Hithium’s technology, with the manufacturer serving as core provider for the 140MWh plant in China’s Guangdong Province. Hithium’s 300Ah cell broke ground with its 12,000 cycle life and <2% degradation in the first 1000 cycles.

The overwhelming majority of our respondents (80%) influence the procurement of solutions that better manage energy, while 87% (rounded) influence the procurement of solutions that increase energy efficiency. To us, this suggests the market is extremely well aware of atomistic solutions for addressing energy consumption, but also that there are growth opportunities for holistic solutions, such as energy management systems.

Citing the evolution of the smart home and intelligent building sectors, the Continental Automated Buildings Association has changed its name to Association for Smarter Homes & Buildings (ASHB, pronounced “Ash-Bee”). The association says its mandate remains unchanged: “to empower connectivity among people, spaces, and technology to deliver a more livable, sustainable, and efficient connected world”.

In Yukon, the Mount McIntyre Recreation Centre is slated to become more energy-efficient and have its ventilation system upgraded. “The Mount McIntyre Recreation Centre’s upgrades will not only support quality recreation facilities, but its green technology upgrades will reduce energy use and help us lower carbon emissions,” said Dr. Brendan Hanley, MP for Yukon.
