Net-Zero Communities Accelerator encourages “new ways of thinking”

Designed to equip participating communities across Canada with the knowledge necessary to develop and continuously implement community energy and emissions plans, QUEST Canada launched the Net-Zero Communities Accelerator. “[The] new NCA program will help participating communities develop and implement impactful community energy and emissions plans that drive positive economic, social, and environmental outcomes,” said Hon. In the pursuit of achieving its net-zero targets, Ottawa will compel all of its major suppliers to disclose their GHG emissions and set reduction targets. Suppliers can fulfil this requirement by participating in Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge or another approved, internationally recognized and functionally equivalent standard or initiative.
