The 8th annual Passive House Canada Conference will be held May 25-27, 2026, in Richmond, B.C.
The national conference celebrates Passive House advancements in Canada while highlighting its headwinds. Climate change, health & wellness, retrofits, innovation and affordability will be at the forefront of discussions.
The 2026 conference will be organized around the theme “Thriving communities, lasting value: Building resilience in Canada.”
Organizers have issued a Call for Speakers, which is open until December 12, 2025. Session tracks fall under the following themes:
Comfort » Occupant health and wellness • Climate change mitigation and adaptability • Monitoring and commissioning
Community » Housing and communities case studies (including retrofits) • Post-occupancy data and evaluations
Capacity » Technical tools • Technical innovation and new materials • Effective processes for collaboration (when emphasizing design/construction teamwork, trades, and authorities) • Training and skills development
Cost » Overcoming cost barriers • Policy and market transformation (focus on incentives, programs, market dynamics) • Effective processes for collaboration (when tied to contracts, procurement, investors, real estate, etc.)
