IEA updates Energy End-use and Efficiency Indicators database – June 2023

July 12, 2023  By  Anthony Capkun

July 12, 2023 – At the heart of the global transition is energy efficiency, says the International Energy Agency (IEA), because it allows us to reduce bills, decrease dependency, and reduce emissions.

“The conjunction of high prices, energy security and climate concerns provides the opportunity for energy efficiency to thrive,” says IEA, “but to model future demand, assess the potential savings and boost efficiency measures, governments need accurate and reliable energy end‑use data across sectors.”

To that end, IEA announced the availability of its updated Energy End-use and Efficiency Indicators database (June 2023).

For over 10 years, IEA has been collecting disaggregated energy end-use data from national and international stakeholders.

In the Energy end‑uses and efficiency indicators data explorer, you can explore a selection of the dataset for free. The explorer contains six tabs, with relevant key indicators and graphs by sector.

Selected data and graphs are available in free Highlights database, while the full Energy end-uses and efficiency indicators database is accessible for subscribers.

With this information, IEA hopes analysts are able “to provide insights to policymakers for successful transitions towards clean and resilient energy systems”.
