New GE Brillion solutions: Whole-Home Sensor, smart plugs, thermostats
April 10, 2012 - GE has added the Whole-Home Sensor to its suite of Brillion home energy solutions which, according to the company, provides continuous energy consumption data without needing a smart meter. The sensor sends consumption data from large 240-volt applications, such as a panel box or pool pump, to the home’s Nucleus energy manager, which then communicates that data to a consumer’s existing smartphones or personal computers. The company has also added smart-plug controls, which enable consumers to track electrical usage by the outlet for most 120-volt appliances and devices, and Brillion-enabled thermostats.
