NLITe reflectors boast of 40% more light
June 7, 2012 - NLITe, a lighting technology at RTI International (the Research Triangle Institute) and funded in part by the Department of Energy, claims to improve lumen output by as much as 40% in any lighting fixture without utilizing any additional energy. The technology can be applied to various lighting fixtures, including traditional fluorescents to LEDs. NLITe is based on polymer nanofibers, which are nanoscale materials whose properties can be manipulated to improve lighting performance. The technology also boasts of lower installation and operating costs due to fewer fixture requirements and lower energy costs.
