3M Canada introduces self-adhered air and vapour barrier membrane 3015

April 19, 2013 - 3M Canada Construction introduced its new self-adhered air and vapour barrier membrane 3015, which is a one-step solution that does not require the use of a primer. It replaces the task of priming and applying the common asphalt-type self-adhered membrane, promising quick install with pressure-sensitive, acrylic-based adhesive. It can also be applied at temperatures as low as -18C. “As buildings are required to be increasingly energy efficient, ensuring membrane seals keep moisture out and air in, is essential,” said Steve Gillis, business manager, 3M Canada Construction. The membrane adheres to a variety of materials, including concrete, anodized aluminum, galvanized metal, exterior gypsum sheathing and plywood.
