Ashrae’s new book offers green tips for datacom facilities

A new book from Ashrae, “Green Tips for Data Centers”, aims to help reduce energy use in existing datacom facilities through what the company calls “proven and easy-to-implement” tips. As part of the Ashrae Datacom series, the book identifies operational changes, upgrades or modifiations that are expected to optimize energy efficiency. Among the 26 tips are optimize supply air temperatures; install monitoring equipment; improve lighting efficiency; optimize data storage; and improve transformer efficiencies.
