Cree debuts in lighting controls market with SmartCast Technology

February 12, 2014 - Cree has entered the lighting controls market with SmartCast Technology, a self-programming wireless lighting control system that claims to reduce energy consumption by up to 70% when used with Cree LED luminaires. According to the company, SmartCast is intuitive and easy to use, thereby removing the difficulties or maintaining lighting controls. Featuring its OneButton setup, luminaires enabled with SmartCast Technology create their own network, learn about their environment and form groups to help maximize savings. SmartCast is currently available in CR LED troffers, CS linear luminaires and KR downlights, as well as a 0-10V interface for controlling dimmable LEDs.
