Dimmable power supply allows use of “green” LED lighting

Cincinnati, OH – Contractors and end-users wishing to use "green" LED lighting can now do so while retaining the aesthetics of dimmable lighting with a new dimmable LED power supply from Foster Transformer.  With patented short circuit and overload protection, this new technology is easy to install and use, and it works with many household dimmer switches.  It is ideal for commercial, industrial and institutional uses as well as for individuals wishing to control the output of their architectural LED lighting.

Commercial applications such as restaurants and entertainment establishments benefit from the mood-setting low lighting available through dimmable switches, yet they still reap the energy savings and design versatility of LEDs.  Casinos and gaming venues enjoy the architectural characteristics of LED lighting with the dimming capability of conventional lighting.

Encapsulated in epoxy and housed in a 304 Stainless Steel enclosure, this power supply is virtually impervious to dirt, moisture, and corrosive elements, making it ideal for use with signage, lighting and other industrial, commercial, and institutional applications.  This unique power supply can withstand a direct short in excess of 15 days, with no external fusing required.  Product accepts multiple input voltages including 120V, 240V, and 277V, 50/60 Hz, with output configurable   for 12 VDC or 24 VDC up to 60 W.  ETL certified for North American and CE marked for Europe.  Tested to ANSI/UL 60950-1, CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 60950-1-03 and EN60950-1.

Limited power source output allows for Class 2 wiring.  Standard electrical knockouts are provided on each side to simplify connections.
