November 22, 2020 – Huntsman Building Solutions is doing a coast-to-coast Canadian roadshow to introduce its new Heatlok Soya HFO (hydrofluoroolefin) spray foam insulation product.

The closed-cell insulation product leverages Honeywell’s latest Solstice liquid blowing agent technology, which promises zero-ozone depletion potential (ODP) and a global warming potential (GWP) of 1. It also boasts an R-value R-6/inch.

The roadshow is an opportunity for insulation contractors and applicators to try out the HFO-based product in advance of the hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) ban coming into effect this January 1, 2021.

Huntsman says Heatlok Soya HFO has a range of advantages over its predecessors, including better airtight building envelopes, stronger structural support, moisture control and higher energy cost savings. It has also been tested as “an exceptional air barrier, vapour retardant, water barrier, thermal insulator and flood resistant”.
