LED Jobsite achieves electricity savings milestone
June 27, 2019 By Peter Saunders
Lind Equipment, which develops temporary lighting in Markham, Ont., for commercial construction applications, says its LED Jobsite System has achieved a milestone of two million kWh of electricity savings.
Lind used real-time data to quantify the precise energy savings generated on active job sites. Assuming a national average price of 10 cents per kWh, the milestone represents $20 million of savings in electricity costs for sites.
This is significant because contractors do not traditionally consider the amount of energy consumed by job-site lighting, since the cost often falls on the project owner or developer.
The plug-and-play system can be reused across multiple projects, reducing waste further.
