New TSO Logic software aims to half data centre energy costs
May 29, 2013 - TSO Logic has launched its energy-efficiency software, designed to help data centres control their energy costs through TSO Metrics to show how power dollars are spent. According to the company, the software has helped pre-release customers save more than 50% on server power costs. TSO Logic’s software uses application-level inspection to determine exactly how much of a data centre’s power draw is going toward revenue-generating activities versus idle servers. This insight allows customers to save electricity without sacrificing performance-automatically controlling the power state of servers based on application demand, it says.
