GE launches GeoSpring hybrid electric water heater

February 10, 2012 - GE has introduced its GeoSpring hybrid electric water heater, claiming that very few products for the home will save as much money as it does. By combining energy-saving heat-pump technology with traditional electric heating systems used in most conventional water heaters today, the GeoSpring absorbs heat in ambient air and transfers it into the water. According to GE, the water heater uses 62% less electricity than a standard electric water heater and will pay for itself in less than 2.5 years.
