Director of the Commercial and Industrial Sectors

Serving as a resource for homeowners, businesses and large industrial energy users in New Brunswick, Efficiency NB offers sound advice and practical solutions to help New Brunswickers use energy more efficiently, make better energy choices, manage energy expenses and lessen the impact of energy use on the environment.

As a member of the Senior Management Group, the Director will report to the Vice-President and be responsible for building a strong culture and commitment to energy efficiency throughout NB’s commercial and industrial sectors. As the successful candidate, you are a leader in the area of energy management who brings a strong network of energy efficiency product and service providers and a general knowledge of NB’s energy sector. With a client focused approach, you will direct and inspire a team of professionals to develop and implement energy efficiency programs, capacity and awareness building initiatives and provincial policy directions, and ensure that all projects, initiatives and processes meet the Agency’s strategic plan and established provincial policy objectives. The Director will also work collaboratively with municipalities, provincial departments, the federal government, energy utilities and other key stakeholders to realize NB’s energy efficiency potential.

Essential Qualifications: Applicants must have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline or a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration AND a minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in energy efficiency management or consulting engineering or an area directly related to energy efficiency.

Behavioural Competencies: The successful candidate will possess the following behavioral competencies: Coaching and Team Development, Organizational Awareness, Organizational Commitment, Relationship Building, Results Orientation, and Strategic Thinking.

Technical Competencies: The successful candidate will possess the following technical competencies: project management skills, specialized knowledge in the Province’s small and medium-sized business and industrial sectors and a solid technical background in commercial HVAC, lighting and refrigeration systems and motors as they relate to potential energy savings.

Salary: $ 85,098 to $ 95,836 per annum
