Free Schneider app calculates HVAC/R energy savings

June 12, 2014 - Schneider Electric says it has debuted the free HVAC/R Calculator Application (App) to help facility managers, building owners and service contractors reduce energy consumption in their facilities while using their existing air conditioning and refreigeration equipment. The app is the first of its kind, says the company, and comes integrated with Schneider’s Condenser Fan Pak, a packaged plug-and-play retrofit solution for air-cooled chillers that claims to reduce energy consumption by up to 30%. By entering the geographic location of the chiller, costs per kWh, equipment run-time and chiller tonnage, the calculator generates a tablet view and produces a PDF report showing estimated annual energy savings potential. The report can then be saved and shared via the email tab.
