Margaret-Ann Blaney named president and CEO of Efficiency NB

May 16, 2012 - Margaret-Ann Blaney will become the new president and CEO of Efficiency NB effective June 4. Efficiency NB provides New Brunswickers with advice and financial incentives to become more energy efficient. It offers solutions to help use energy more efficiently, make better energy choices, manage energy expenses and lessen the impact of energy use on the environment.

“Efficiency NB’s ground-breaking mandate has never been more relevant than it is in today’s evolving energy landscape,” said Premier David Alward. “I am confident Ms. Blaney will strengthen Efficiency NB’s connections with homeowners and businesses across New Brunswick as it implements an increasingly ambitious and innovative agenda.”

“Efficiency NB empowers New Brunswickers to save money and care for the environment, which is the foundation of our communities,” said Blaney. “Together, we have an opportunity to ensure even more New Brunswickers participate in programs that are absolutely vital to our future as a province.”

Blaney said she will resign from her role as MLA for Rothesay and minister of energy and minister responsible for the status of women effective May 25.
