New solar panel manufacturer to open In The Sault
A new Sault Ste. Marie company will help Ontario become a leader in clean energy technology, creating new jobs in the community, according to a release by the Ontario government.
With assistance from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), Heliene Canada Inc. will establish a fully automated solar panel manufacturing plant. The plant is expected to open in about a year, with the hope of creating as many as 36 production jobs by the fifth year of operation.
This initiative is part of the provincial government's five-year Open Ontario plan to create jobs and economic opportunities in Northern Ontario.
