February 19, 2013 - Energy Manager recently returned from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM’s) Sustainable Communities Conference (our first time attending) in Windsor, Ont., and what an interesting experience.

Among the highlights was the official opening of the conference & tradeshow with an inaugural lap of the indoor test track with a zero-emissions vehicle—the first time ever, says FCM, at a national municipal event.
Also of note was the unveiling of the 2013 Sustainable Communities Award winners; these awards recognize innovation and excellence in municipal sustainable development across Canada in six categories: brownfields, energy, neighbourhood development, transportation, waste and water.
